BRITISH AND FOREIGN. London, October 13. A meeting of the Irish National Land League was held to-day, when Dillon was appointed to replace Parnell in the leadership. October 14. It has transpired that the warrant under which Parnell was arrested, charged him with intimidating people to prevent their utilising the Laud Act or paying rents.

Since Parnell’s arrest, several meetings of the Land League have been held in Ireland, at which defiant speeches were made .by prominent leaders.

Considerable excitement has been caused throughout the country by the action of the Executive, and the feeling is extending.
