KUMARA HOSPITAL.

A meeting of the Hospital Committee was held in the Secretary's Eoom on Tuesday evening last; present Mr Toms (in the chair), Messrs Morris, Dinan, Hughes, Wilson, White, aud Spyers. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. A letter from the Secretary to the Amateur Dramatic Club was read and received.

A tender was received from:Mr H. Johnston, offering to conduct burials at £5. The tender was accepted; an agreement to be drawn up and signed as between the contractor and the Hospital Committee.

Mr Alex;J RdssV-(Wardsman's) Report for the month ol September was read and received. From it ,we learn that the number of indoor patients treated during that period was nine. Salvadore Garguillo, Robert Hill, (miners), and Thos. Wilson (schoolmaster) have been discharged as cured ; Thos. Smith (miner), discharged relieved ; G.- Whitten (storekeeper) discharged unrelieved ji John -•- Miles (miner), died on the 15th. P. Doonan, and P. O'Pdley (miner*.), and Mary Ann Wagshaw (domestic) are still under treatment. <,

: Sumniones were ordered to be taken out against two former patients for maintenance while in the Hospital. Mr W. Wade was appointed an Auditor, vice Mr Bennett, resigned. The following subscriptions were received : H. Burger, £1 ■ by Mr Hughes, £1; by Mr ripyera, £3 10s by the Secretary, £3. Accounts to the amount of £99 3s 6d were passed for payment, and the meeting adjourned.
