BRITISH AND FOREIGN. London, August 3. The steamship protos arrived to-day from Me!bourne. Her cargo of meat, consisting of 200 carcases of beef and 4000 sheep, is so far us can be as-cer-tained in excellent condition. P,\i:rs, September 1. Svnee the. receipt of the above intelligence the French Government ha< issued orders tor the immedute despatch of reinforcements for the anuv in the Tunisian territory, and slie embark,iti n of troops is now proceeding at Toulm and Marseilles.
Telegrams received to-day from Algiers report that vast . conflagrations, which are known to have been caused by Arab insurgents' have broken out in many parts of the Province. The threatening-attitude of the Aral' fanatics is causing great alarm.
