Sydney, August 27. Two fresh cases of small-pox have been reported to the Health Board to-day. The sufferers are a girl named Wales, residing at Woollaharra, and James O’Neill, a Marist Brother, of Abercrombie street.

A number of persons have been released from the Quarantine Station last night. They are reticent as to the treatment they have received, pending legal advice. Enough lias, however, ttanspired to show that there Ims been gross neglect and mismanagement at the station. It is stated that the shoes and clothes of those in quarantine were destroyed, and were never rereplaced, The facts which have come to light have created deep sensation and a feeling of indignation. In the action for libel brought by Perkins, Minister for Lands, against the Evangelical Standard, in which damages were laid at £ 2OOO, a verdict has been returned for plaintiff with £3 damages and costs.
