[special to kumara times.] Wellington, August 16. The Estimates were brought down to-day. There is no material difference between provisions made and those already wired. Re the Hauhau Tramway Company’s claim for compensation, the Goldfields Committee recommend a fresh inquiry to be made. The Redistribution of Seats Bill debate is going on. The division will be taken to-night, and will be in favor of the Government. A modification will be made in Committee; and if there be strong opposition, probably the Government will drop it.

Timaru, August 15. The inquiry into the late fire at Mosefe’s Cash Palace, Timaru, last week, occupied all day. A verdict of arson was returned against Abraham and Louis Moses.
Dunedin, August 15. A fire at Debdrah Bay, Port Chalmers, on Sunday night, destroyed a Sevenroomed house, the property of Mr Julier. It was insured for .£350 in the National. The loss is over .£2OO.
At the inquest on the carpenter killed by a fall from aloft on the steamer Hero, a verdict of accidental death was returned, acquitting the officers of ail blame.
