London, August 12. The Irish Land Bill was again under consideration in the House of Lords today, when the original amendments made in Committee were insisted upon by a large majority. Karl Granville, in the course of the debate, .solemnly protested against the action of the House. The Bill, as re-amended, was, however, agreed to, and ins consideration will be resumed in the House of Commons on Monday next. It is understood tint Government will firml}’ oppose the amendments of the House of Lords.
Alexandria, August 13. A Ministerial crises has occurred in this country, and lias resulted in serious discontent, ’ manifesting itself in the Egyptian army. Osman Pasha Refk, Minister of War, hits, in consequence, been dismissed by the Khedive. It is understood that his Majesty, in view ot the crisis, desires to assume possession ot the President of the Council of Ministers.
LATEST AUSTRALIAN NEWS. Melbourne, August 13. It is announced that Robert Burrows has been appointed Minister of Mines, and Madden, Minister of Lands ; Hon. J. M'Baio, M.L.C., has been appointed a minister without a portfolio. Mr E. Jagg, accountant of the Lands Department, lias been arrested on a charge of forgery. Obituary.—Hon. Mr justice Stephen, aged 58.
