There are only tvid applications for ex 1 tended claims, alia one of these is objected to by Mr Seddon. This applies l tion has been adjourned from time to tirad for months to hear Mr Seddpn’s objections and witnesses on oath. I also visited thd ground! A petition was presented against it signed by 49 persons, of which only 13 were bona fide* and a connter-petitioil signed by 11 persona in favor of the request. I have put applicants to much trouble on Mr Seddon’s account; and lastly, expense of survey and report, which is favorable to applicants, to refnsd them their claims because of Mr Seddon’s report to you would be unjust; but I will adjourn a week awaiting your reply; H. A. Stratford, Warden;
