[NEW ZEALAND PBESS ASSOCIATION.] Dunedin, June 19. Frank Cotterell, who was barman at the Industrial Exhibition, committed suicide last night about midnight, by jumping off the wharf. He had been discharged that night, and having a wife at home confined to her bed, became low spirited. He left a pocketbook on the wharf giving his name and address. He also left his upper clothing. The body was found to-day. There were 3000 visitors at the Industrial Exhibition yesterday. Over £l2O were taked in single admission tickets, and people had to be refused admission after eight o'clock. The Mayor has received .£9 17s 6d, collected by the Wellington Evening Post in aid of the Tararua.Fund. The Tipperary Company. Macetown, have sent down a cake of 381 <>zs. Auckland, June 18. Mr Speckman, one of the oldest settlers in the Colony, has died at Whangaroa. He came to Whangaroa with the Rev. Mr Mavsden, the missionary, and ploughed the first land ploughed in the Colony. The Pinafore mania is still rampant. Money has been refused repeatedly during the week. Reynolds runs it still. He will close next week.
