BRITISH AND FOREIGN. London, June 3. In the House of Commons to-day, the Irish Laud Bill was further considered in Committee. It was urged by the opponents of the measure that action should be taken by the Government in regard to absenteeism, and the Right Hon. W. E. Gladstone eventually announced that proper steps would be taken to deal with the question of residence of landlords in Ireland. June 4, In the House of Commons last night, stormy scenes occurred during the consideration of the Irish Laud Bill in Committee, owing to the obstructive tactics of Irish members. Mr J. O’Keely, member for Roscommon, was most disorderly, and was finally, by the Speaker’s order, suspended for the remainder of the sitting. ‘ Both Houses of Parliament now stand adjourned to the 9th inst. for Whitsuntide recess. Owing to the continuance of disturbances in Ireland, further reinforcements of troops have been ordered across the Channel to augment the forces in toe disaffected districts. The police in Ireland are now actively engaged in searching for arras in the houses of suspected persons, iu accordance with the powers conferred by the Irish Arms Act. Constantinople, June 3, The Foreign Ambassadors in this city are strenuously urging the Porte to expedite the partition of Thessaly and Epirus, which is now to be ceded for the extension of the Greek frontier.
