WARDEN'S COURT.
Monday, May 2
[Before H. A. Stratford, Esq., Warden.] The Court sat at 8 p.m. Sum Turn and Ah Young applied for permission to construct a tail-race.— Mr Seddon for applicants.—The application was granted. The Court then adjourned. Tuesday, May 3. The Court opened at 9 a.m. Edward Neave and party applied for a double area at Larrikin's.—Mr Hannan for applicants.—Granted, subject to the condition that the applicants cannot claim compensation from any parties requiring to construct tunnel or tail-race through the ground to work the claims and connect therewith the sludge-channel.
James M'Redmond and Patrick Moran applied for protection for six months fur double area claim, at Larrikin's.—Mr Hannan for applicants.— Special protection was granted for two men's ground for fourteen days, to enable the Warden to inquire into the merits of the application. M'Masters and party applied for a double area at the Break.—The application was granted under conditions similar to those imposed in the case of Neave and party. Macnamara and party applied for a double area.—Mr Hannar. appeared on behalf of a a person named Flanagan, who claimed to have bis name inserted in the list of shareholders. There was no objection lodged, and the application
was granted, the name of Flanagan being put in the certificate.
Robert M'Glone, R. Heaney, and D. Ryan applied for a double area for their claim at Larrikin's.—Mr Seddon for applicants.—This -was objected to by Conlah and partyj but the objection was not sustained, the application being granted, though subject to certain conditions.
Stewart and party applied for protection for three months for their double area claim at Dunedin Flat. Mr Barff appeared on behalf of the applicants. Two witnesses were examined, and finally, protection was granted to the Ist July. In the case of M'Donald and party, who had applied for protection, there was no appearance, and the case was struck out.
Moi-ell and Broom.—Application for a tail-race at Greenstone;—Mr Seddon appeared for Mr W. Keech> applying to have Mr Keech's name inserted in the certificate.—The Applicants agreed to this-.—Certificate granted accordingly. D; M'Kinnon and F. Barrowman applied for a double atea for their claim at Latrikin's.—Mr Seddon appeared on behalf of M'Leod and party, who objected; The objection was withdrawn on the applicants agreeing to shift their pegs as requested by the objectors. Application granted on these conditions.
The application of tteid arid party for a double area at Minhindt was granted on the same conditions as in the case of Neave and party. Ward and party's application, adjourned from the 26th ult;, asking that the batiks of tho Greenstone Creek be defined within the limits of their claim. It was ordered that the banks be defined according to a plan furnished by Mr Barton, the Registrar, who had been appointed by the Warden to inspect the ground in question. Alex. M'Leod and party v. Krutzfeldt and party, (heard at a previous sitting of the Court).— This was a suit instituted for the cancellation of a certificate.—Mr Hannan appeared for the plaintiffs.—The evidence of John Conlan was taken, and the Warden adjudged that the claim be decreed abandoned, the certificate to be cancelled, and the plaintiffs to be the first applicants for the claim in question, provided that the application be filed within three days. The Court then adjourned.
