WARDEN’S COURT.

Tuesday, April 26. [Before H. A. Stratford, Esq., Warden.]

The Court opened at 9 a.m APPLICATIONS.

Sum Chum and party-.—This was an application for permission to divert the course of the Greenstone Creek at a certain point.—After some discussion, the application was granted. Sum Chum and party applied for permission to construct a tail-race.— Application granted. An application of Carey and party to construct a tail-race, was adjourned. Carew and party applied for a headrace at Gardener’s Gully.—Granted. Broom and Keech applied for the registration of an abandoned head-race in the Greenstone district.—Granted. An application of H. Peters for three acres of ground as a special sice for stacking tailings was adjourned to the 31st May, to allow a survey to be made. An application of Manil and Broom for the registration of an abandoned head-race was also adjourned to the 31st May. Richards and party applied for a double area.—Granted. Moore and party applied for a doable-area.—-The application was granted. An application of M'Gowan and party, for the protection of their claim was refused. An application of O’Neil and party for a special site for stacking tailings was refused, on the ground that the Warden was about to make a special reserve fur the purpose, for the use of the miners generally. An application of Tonkin and party for an extended claim was granted. Jorgenson and party applied for three months’ protection for their claim, on the ground that they were unable to work their ground to advantage until Seddon’s tunnel was completed.—The Warden granted special protection for fourteen days, and the application was held over until the 10th May. M'Kinnon and party applied for a double area. The appplication was objected to by M'Glone and party, and M'Leod and party.—A considerable amount of evidence was taken, and the case was adjourned to the 31st May. Ryan and party applied for a double area near Houlahan’s dam.—The application was objected to by O’Loughlin and party ; but, after some discussion, was granted. M‘Leod and party and Krutzfeldt and party applied for the cancellation of a certificate of a registered claim.— Mr Hannan appeared for the plaintiffs—This was a friendly suit, and after evidence had been taken and documents produced, there being no appearance of the defendants, judgment was given for the plaintiffs.
