BRITISH AND FOREIGN. London, April 19, The Right Hon. R. A. Cross, late Secretary of the Home Department, has been decorated with the Giand Cross of the Order of the Bath.
April 20. Nothing definite has yet transpired tegarding the personnel of the Cabinet which is believed to be -in- course of formation.
No official statement has yet been made in confirmation of the report that Beacoosfield and his colleagues had tendered their resignations, and that the same had been accepted by her Majestv. The new series of colonial wool huc-* tions was opened to-day. The quantity catalogued was 85,000 bales. The tone of the sales is strong, with an upward demand. Greasy, Id higher, washed ; scoured, higher. There was a large attendance of Home and foreign buyers. The auctions close on June 12.

Ministers hag issued a circular indicating the foreign policy of the Government. The Directors of the Meat Freezing Company waited on the Commissioner of Customs, to urge the abolition of the Stock Tax, and declaring it would, be impossible while the same, existed to establish the meat industry. The Commissioner replied that they could not hope at present to be able to comply with the request of the Company. April 21. At a Cabinet meeting held yesterday, it was resolved to support Sir Charles Macmahon for Speaker. Mr Lalor is also a candidate.
