Through a blunder in an office calendar, the Banks in -Ku'mara were yesterday advertised to be closed to-day, as for St, George’s Day. The mistake was discovered, as we to-day observed that they were all open. To-morrow, being St. George’s, is the day on which they will be closed for the legal holiday. A temporary telegraph office is opened on the Auckland racecourse to-day and to-morrow.

At. the Resident Magistrate’s Court at Stafford Town, this morning, Dr Giles gave his decision in the case of John Rodgers, who was charged with illegally acting as a member of the Arahural Road Board and dismissed tho information against the defendant, with costs of Court against the informant. The decision given by the Magistrate, which is a very lengthy and important one, will appear in full to-morrow.
