The;specimen of Auckland woods sent to: the Sydney Exhibition by Mr Norriej of Auckland, has attracted much attention from the French Commissioner, who has requested Mr Norrie to report fully. Mr Winthorp has imported from Sydney four of the cattle of the Alderney breed which took first prize at the Exhibition. At the District Court this morning, Mr Standiah withdrew the prosecution against James Hill, the late Steward of the Hospital, who was charged with an indecent assault, and over whose case two juries have failed to return a verdict.
