The Rose next proceeded to New Britain and the adjacent island; She reports the state of affairs at the Former place to be dangerous to the traders, who consist of abottt a score, mostly German trading for Goddefroy Brothers. All the traders take the precaution to carry arms, ■ At Duke of York Island, the natives are quiet artdjin offensive. Froiti here the missionary influence radiates?; The wife and family of the Rev. G. BroWn are all in good health’, and the mission is prospering.
