A very severe earthquake has taken place in Northern Persia. Nearly 1100 persons perished, and great damage was caused to property. The first reinforcements disembarked at Natal on the sth, the remainder on the 10th.
The relief of Ekowe will soon be attempted. There is no truth in a rumour for an overture for peace.
