The rumours of probable changes with Ministry racently in circulation are now proved to be void of foundation.-
A division has occurred in. Reform League, over charge against Yeomans, Secretary of League, for havicg received £4O, in order to secure nomination of Commissioner of Peace for support. Committee of investigation brought up two opposite reports, one of virtual condemnation, the other white washing him. The latter was carried. Further exposures in letters, in the newspapers.

New Guinea news says that six native teachers at South East Cape have been poisoned by the natives placing some upas tree in their drinking water.

A large meeting of Lamhton miners decided to join the other colleries in the vend system. The manager of the Lambton mine declines to agree to the men's decision. The miners therefore have given a fortnights notice.
