By a notification that appears in another column it will be observed that the balance of the purchase money on the town sections sold here on the 12th inst. must be paid to the Receiver of Land Revenue on or before Friday, the 11th day of April next. Any purchaser not complying with this demand will forfeit the amount of his deposit. In consequence of there not being a quorum of members present, the usual fortnightly meeting of the Hospital Committee lapsed last evening. The Borough of Ross possesses a humorous specialty, in the shape of a " number" which performs the most astonishing and erratic feats, the latest being thus chronicled by the Guardian, "Mr Grimmond returned to Ross on Saturday evening. A number met him and took the horse out of his carriage, and drew it up themselves." Our contemporary does not state the altitude attained by the carriage, or the effects on the unfortunate occupant. Mr W. Willway having sold his plans and interest in the Dyeing Business to Mr R. Upjohn (who has become practically acquainted with the trade), bogs to solicit the kind patronage hitherto afforded him to his successor.—Mrs Upjohn announces that she is prepared to clean and dye hats, feathers, gloves, &c, in the best style.
