KUMARA PROSPECTING ASSOCIATION.
The adjourned meeting of the above association was held in the Town Hall last evening. Present; M essrs Du ngan (in the chair), O'Hara, Cuming, and Wylde. The minutes of the lust meeting were read and c<mtinned. The 13th report of the prospecting party was read as follows : Report No. 13. To the Secretary Kumara Prospecting Association. Sir—We have been sinking this week and are down 18 feet. The stuff is blue gravel, and quite dry. Peter Anderson and Party, Prospectors. Prospectors Camp, November 9th, 1878. The Secretary (Mr Wylde) reported having received a cheque for £37 10s from the Government. Subscriptions of £1 6s for the week ending the 2nd, and £2 10s for week ending 9th of November, were acknowledged by the Chairman ; and he also reported that the sum of £7 10s was due for wages to the latter date. The following accounts were passed for payment .-—Wages, £7 10s! Kumara Times, £2 18s 6d ; coach hire, 7s 61; Collector, 10s; total, £ll 6s. Resolved on the motion of Mr O'Hara seconded by Mr Curbing ; that the Association having sufficient funds in hand to continue operation-" for several weeks, it is not necessary to collect more subscriptions at present; and that notice to thia effect be given to the Collector. The Cuairman reported that one of the prospectors (Pluminer) had ceased
working, and had withdrawn fmm the party on the 2nd instant, and that only two. men had been at work for the last week.
It was then res<»Hed that the prospecting party be made up to the full number of three nvn, and that Mr Peter Anderson be appointed the responsible head of the party. The meeting then adjourned for a fortnight.
