KUMARA PROSPECTING ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of the above association' wag hold last evening,, in the Borough Council Chambers. Present : Mr Dungan (in the chair), Messrs Geany, O’Hara, Roach, Anderson, Pearn, Cuming, Holmes, Williams, Wylde. The minutes of the last meeting, were read and confirmed.
Mr Dungan reporte'cl that Mr Holmes had declined to continue to act as Collector, and that in consequence he (Mr Dungan) bad called a meeting, last Wednesday evening, of as many of the members as he could get together, and they had decided to engage Mr Grams, at 10s per week for one mouth’; and that Mr Grams had consented to this arrangement.
It was then moved by Mr Pearn, seconded by Mr Anderson, and carried, “ That the appointment of Mr Grams be continued’”
Mr Urania attended, and reported having collected £5 lls 6d, which he handed to the Treasurer.
The Secretary read a copy of a letter to the Bank concerning the signing of cheques. *
Mr Drmgan reported having rewived the sum of £6 18s from Mr Holmes, being the .amount collected hy -him, less 10s for commission ; and that he had lodged the same at the Bank of New Zealand.
Mr Cuming reported that the subcommittee appointed at last meeting had interviewed Mr Price, who had recommended that the Association should prospect fresh ground, not less than two miles from the present workings. The following applications wqre read from parties offering to prospect:— 1. Chas. Ivesson.—This application avhs informal.
2. Henry MdAiroy, John M‘Mahon, and B Mnlvihill.
3 Fred Sterling (mnst chose his mate*).- —Application informal. ■ 4. C. J. Patrick, Ch. Storkman, Galdios Rehag. 5. Jas. Smith, Robt. Gilmoqr, Thos. Davidson.
<5. Martin Kearuey, Duncan Fisher, Michael Flanagan. 7. Kv.ui Griffiths, Bat. M'Cullough, Midi. Rvan.
8. Jas. Connaghee, John O’Keefe, Wm. Sbcehau.

A ballot took place and Peter Anrlev?na and party w-ere elected as the first p.-ospeefing party. The party consists of Ptjter Anderson, Roderick M‘Donald, and Thomas Plainer. Moved by .Mr Peam, seconded by Mr Anderson—-“ That the prospectors he instructed to com ms nee. work on Monday next, the sth August.” The following rules were then adopted
1. That the first shaft be sunk near the tramway south of the Teremalcau, not less than two miles from the Greenstone Road.
2. That succeeding shafts be sunk on a line hearing south from the first shaft, and in the direction of the E.B. line.
3. That the prospectors report every Saturday bo the Secretary or Treasurer, detailing the progress of their work. 4. That/ wages be paid every fortnight. i
5. That the Association have power to cancel the arrangement with the prospectors at anytime, by paying wages to date.
6. In the event of payable gold being struck, the prospectors to report immediately to the Secretary.
7. In the event of the anangement with the prosjiectois being terminated, they are to return the tools belonging to the Association to the Secretary, in Kumara.
8. The wages to be 30s per week, per man : all tools to be found by the men except buckets, ropes, and bellows. The meeting then adjourned until Monday, 12 th August, at 8 p.m.
