CURE FOR RHEUMATISM.
A cure of gout, by means of the sting of bees, is reported from Germany. A woman suffered so severely from gout that she, for six months, found neither sleep nor rest, whilst her right arm was suff rnig so much that she was not only prevail ed from all work, but could not even dress or undress herself. Her husl.au i was told of a peasant, who, quite disabled by rheumatism, had been cured by a bee accidentail.- slinging him. He then persuaded Ills wife to try this remedy, as the pain caused by a bee-sting could hardly
he as great as that she 'was suffer- ■'■■■■ iug. la consequence, three bees were placed on her arm, and pressed down some time, so that the poison vesicles ' should be well emptied. The patient enjoyed a long and ’ quiet sleep daring '• the next night, whilst' the paid, 1 which had tieen tormenting her six inonths, had nearly quite vanished, la consequence of the bee-Stings the - arm was of course, very much swelled, bat cold embrocations subdaed this, and the arm was afterwards free of all pain, and had regained its former strength. Since then the patient has had neither gout uor rheumatism.
