HOSPITAL COMMITTEE.
A meeting of the Hospital Ward Committee was held last night, at the" Brian Boru Hotel. Present—Messrs Dungan (chairman), Stewart, Bird, Fraser, M'Gregor, Corrigan, Hally Reynolds, Hanna, Riley, Garguilo, and Plunket.
The following business was transacted:—Money for tickets sold was handed in—Mr Dungan, £3; Mr Garguilo, .24; Mr Hanna, £5; Mr Fraser, £l3 2s 6d; Mr Corrigan, £3. The last-named gentleman also handed in £1 as a donation from the owners of the Lucky Hit claim, being wages due to the late Michael Harris.
Correspondence from the Hokitika Hospital Committee was read and received.
The secretary was instructed to ask on what recommendation ; a patient named Scanlon had been admitted. A letter from the 1.0.G.T. Entertainaaent Committee, offering a benefit concert, was read, and the offer was received with thanks, the acting secretary being requested to acknowledge the same.
Two small accounts in connection with the late ball were passed for payment. The account from Hokitika was passed for payment, with the exception of one item. It was resolved that the sum of £BO be sent down to the Central Committee, to be placed to the credit of the local ward.
The acting secretary was directed to advertise the firs* annual election of a local sbu'-committee.
The committtee then adjourned till next Tuesday, at seven o'clock.
