Sydney, March 31. The Suez mail arrived at Adelaide on Thursday night. The exports for the month to New Zealand amount to .£184,000. There is nothing of importance commercially. The steamer Thales arrived at Cooktown from Hong Kong yesterday with five hundred Chinese. There was a case of supposed small-pox on board. April 2. The ship City of Foo-Chow, from Sydney, bound for Calcutta, was totally wrecked in Bass's Strait. The crew were saved.
In the second match the combined team obtained 122 in the first innings. The Ringaroonia leaves Melbourne to-morrow, with the Suez mail. , At the Randwick Races, the following horses won :
Autumn Stakes—Pride of the Hills, 1; Democrat, 2; Sunlight, 3. Champagne Stakes Chester, 1; Expectation, 2 ; Royalty, 3. St. Leger—Chrysolite Colt, 1; Adelaide, 2 ; Queen's Head, 3. This was, a splendid race, and was won by a length. Time: three minutes fifteen seconds.

The Council of State have agreed to an address in reply to the Sultan's speech, opposing any claims to Turkish territory, and approving of the rejection of the proposals of the Conference.
. Mr Layard is appointed temporarily English representative at Stamboul. The Prince of Wales is recovering. President Hayes has senfc a commission to Louisiana and invited the rival Governors of Smith Carolina to "Washington, with a view to the settlement of the election dispute. The mail, via San Francisco, was delivered on March 27.
April 1. England will sign the protocol on condition that Russia consents to demobilise.
There is a prospect of the agreement between Turkey and Montenegro being revived.
