Easter Monday.
Seven or eight hundred persona attended the Race-course yesterday. The. following is the result of the principal races : Trial .Stakes of 30 bovs. Weight, for age. One and a half miles. Mi- Walters's br'h Isaac Walton, 4 yrs, 1 Ray's b h Middleton, 3 yrs . . 2 Ray's b g Tommy Dodd, aged . 3 This could scarcely be called a race, as the horses never exceeded a canter.
Hack Race of 15 sovs. Handicap. One mile heats. Post Entry £l. Thunderbolt ... . . 1
Blue Bell
The first heat was won easily by Blue Bell, Falcon second, Wideawake third, and Thunderbolt last. The second heat reversed this order, Thunderbolt winning easily, followed by Wideawake, Blue Bell and Falcon in" the order (named. The third heat was won as given above, Kumara Handicap of 50 sovs. Two miles. Mr Walters's br h Kingfisher, 6 yrs, 7stlolbs . . ■ . • . 1 Ray's b g Tommy Todd, aged, Bst Tibs . :. .■ . . . • 2 Birchall's ch g Native, 4 yrs, 6st 4lbs . . , . . . 0 Hungerford's b h Jasper, a»ed, 7st 3lbs. ... , ...... - 0
Native jumped off with a good lead, in the second round he was passed by Jasper and Kingfisher The last time round the race lay between Kingfisher and Jasper, the former being prevented from winning by a distinct jostle on the part of the boy who rode Jasper
