OPARAU ROADS.
(to the editor.) Sir,—A letter appeared iu last issue written by Mr H. Armstrong, the Oparau riding member. If Mr Armstrong would give more consideration to tbe requests of those he Represents,*'there would be no need to write to tho Settler. The facts are here, and n n amount of talk will alter them. Facts don’t alter. Anyone with the intelli - gance to understand can at once see tbe defective road referred to and notice the useless waste of spending money on a piece of road that can never be a good road without a larger amount being spent than the deviati on (although now iu fern) would cost. As to comparison, there is none, and Mr Armstrong’s attempt to defend the badly laid off section of road shows it would be better if be took more trouble to look into the needs of Oparau before committing himself. Re sun glazed pipes: ibis name evidently originated with Mr Armstrong as salt-glazed was tbe term used by “Oparau Settler,” also by “Another Oparau Settler” making two Oparau Settlers. AU signed ths petition. Stick to your billet, as they are hard to get.—Yours, etc., OPARAU SETTLER No. 6.
