Obituary.
MRS. NEWTON, SENR, After a severe illaess of five months’ duration, Mrs Newton, sent., died at her eons’ residence at Oparau on Thursday morning last, at the sga of 77 years. Although the deceased lady had only resided in' this dist»ict for ■ about five years, during that time she bad become well known to a large efiaie of friend-’, who* deeply deplore her demise. Tho late Mrs Newton Was bom ir England, and camo out to Victoria with her parents at an early age, the family residing at Kilinore, reran ng to Napier, in this colony, same 45 years ago, constquen Jy she could be counted as one of the pioneers of that place. At Napier she mar ried Me T. K. Newton, who predeceased her by 15 year-. There are eight sons and two daughters left to mourn their los?, mort of them being residents of this district, and to whom we off r ,-incere sympathy.
