Lawn Tennis.
In our report of the annual meeting of the Kawhia Lawn Tennis Club in i our last issue, we omitted lo mention iho fact that Mr and Mrs Newton were p-esenled with a handsome butter dish Huitabiy inscribed) which was won by them in the mixed doubles played last Ea&tcr Monday. We regret the omission occurred. The president of the local club (Mr W. A. Mason) has promised to donate trophies to the value of two guineas for competition during the seasun. Tho opening of the season on the local courts on Wednesday last was greeted with beautiful weather, consequently there was a good attendance of members and spectators. Mr Jonathan (vice - president) declared the courts open, and until dark they were busily occupied by wielders of the racquet. The ladies supplied afternoon tea, which was much appreciated especially as the weather was particularly warm. Mr W. Berg took a photograph of the players and snapshots of the games in progress.
