SMOKERS PLEASE NOTE. A rush on i’. ' \Vh::f ? TjislßY Tobacco, FLAKE OU P, in TWO OUNCE TINS. Ail tob ice mints. Another of Mr Booseu’s coach hcri-cs died at Te Ran a-moa ou Tuesday, the oaii<e cf which, iho owner ftj sells, is through the animal eating ragwort. Two re} reaentutires of New P;ymnuth firms,Messrs Jeukioson (coaehbeddrr.-.) and Morey (drapers) arrived on Thursday by the ss. Kia Ora on a btiainess trip. Complaints are beard as to the great scarcity of labour in ibis district, Sumo of ibe settlers being unable to fall bush on ibia account. Messrs |iell Bros, and Ross have been unable to secure sufficient men to work their flax mill, and have had to send to Auckland for bands. There is every pr- Lability that the Northern S.S. Co will put a tender to the Kij Ora tit KtiwhLi. Captain De Woolfe’s report on the Marok ipa bar was not favourable, but the Company have instructed Captain Bhicklick. to inspect that place next week and pre sent a more detailed report. Seven years experience has proved every claim made for Shahland’s Mca Brand Egg Pkeservative. In all that time not one egg has been lost when directions have been carried out. It simply cannot fail. One pint bottle preserves seven dozen eggs. See that the name is on tha label.* The residents of Kinohaka assembled ; n large numbers at the school recently, and spent the day in fencing the ground, digging up the front portion and leving off a garden, which the children are to attend to. A Kawhia business man donated a liberal supply of flower seeds. Anyone taking a walk around the outskirts of the Kawhia township would be surprised at the quantities of noxious weeds of every description that are growing. Something should surely be done to check this evil, and if the owners of the sections cannot be traced the weeds should be cut and charged against the land. That tho quantity of mail matter coming into this district is increasing rapidly is recognised, but proof is given every Tuesday and Friday when a string of about balf-a dozen man can bo seen conveying tho bags from the wharf to the post office. Surely the Postal Department would be generous enough to provide a band cart for this woik if application was made. The work of constructing the Ngutunui road (between Oparau and Pirongia) has been commenced and also discontinued, and settlers are naturally agitating for its completion. The road would make the Waikato many miles nearer, and we would urge our member to bring this fact the authorities. The settlers interested are talking of forming a working bee to cat a pack track along the road. SMOKERS. DERBY Tobacco in the new TWO OUNCE TINS is a delightful smoke—is MILD, but does not burn the tongue. Try it.
