Pirongia.

FROM OUR OWN CORBESPONDKNT. On Friday evening, August 25th, a very successful social was held in the Public Hall, in aid of the local tennis elub. The night was fine, consequently a large number were in attendance. The floor ‘being in perfect order dancing was kept up till early morn.

Of late the weather has been all that could be desired, though on Thursday morning a sharp frost was seen and felt—felt in more ways than one by those who had eerly pititoes showing through the ground. With this exception"the weather has been all that could be desired.
