(to tub editor.) Sir, —As 1 was going home the other day, in passing a certain settlers place I was astonished to see a number of Maori children about. On enquiring what it meant, one person said it was a new St. Skiphens* Schoo.!,, whilst another said it was a branch of Dr. Barnado’s home. I must say, however that it reflects credit to the philanthropic settler that he takes such interest in the Maori children,'— Younn, etc., OPARAU SETTLER.
