MUNICIPAL SALEYARDS.

NO FURTHER ACTION The question of municipal saleyards cropped up at the Borough Council meeting on Monday evening, when Cr Mostyn Jones said that, notwithstanding the fact that the sub-com-mittee had reported favourably concerning the proposal, the owners of the yards at Ts Kuiti had not quoted a price when requested to do so. He understood the Mayor had seen a representative of one of the auctioneering firms, and h9d said the Council had no intention of purchasing the yardß. The Mayor said he had no knowledge of the occurrence.

The town clerk said a reply had been received from the owners of the yards, Btating they would quote a price if the Council really wished to buy. No further action had been taken by the Council.
