OBITUARY.
MK E. C. FALWASSER
News of the death of Mr E. C. Falwasser, at Auckland, came as a shock to Te Kuiti residents yesterday. It was known that Mi? Falwasser waß suffering from an attack of typhoid, but it waß understood he was well on the road to recovery. It is now stated that the patient suffered a relapse when thought to be out of danger, and passed away yesterday morning. It is not saying too much to state that Mr Falwasser's death will create a blank in the King Country which can never be filled. "Teddy" was known to all as a gentleman and a friend, and his bright and genial personality endeared him to a very wide circle, among which were included the best elements of both races.
About two years ago Mr Falwasser left Te Kuiti and started business in Auckland, but his connection with the King Country has always bean maintained. At th 9 time of his departure from Te Kuiti Mr Falwasser was tendered a public farewell, and was the recipient of a handsome presentation in recognition of the many services rendered to the public in various ways. Deceased was a keen sportsman, and was associated with various branches of sport wherever he happened to be. He was created a life member of the Te Kuiti Racing Club in recognition of the services tendered to the club in its early days. While at Te Kuiti he wai closely associated with football and occupied the position of president of the Maniapoto Rugby Union, while for several seasons past be had been elected president of the South Auckland Rugby Union. At the time of his death, Mr Falwasser was still in the prime of manhood, being in his forty-fourth year, and the sorrow at his untimely end will be keener in consequence. Deceased leaves a widow and family of four to mourn their loss. The body is to be conveyed to Kawhia for burial, and the funeral will take place to-morrow.
