Fetrogrqd, Thursday.
It is officially stated that ttie Russian fleet, when returning to Sevastopol after a cruise on the Anatolian coast, sighted the Goeben and Breslau 25 miles off lha Chersonese light house, and immediately manoeuvred in battle order.
The flagship Svyatoi Evstafli opened fire with her 12in guns, while tho other Russians made excellent practice.
Explosions occurred on the Goeben, which was evidently surprised, and there was some delay before she fired.
Then her heavy gurs were concentrated on the Svyatoi Evstafli until the Goeben was forced to fly. The Breslau, taking advantage of her speed, did not participate in the fighting. The Svyatoi Evstafli wis litllo damaged.. Thirty-throo were killed and twenty-five woro wounded on board her.
