TE RAU-A-MOA.

Own Correaopndent,

Political matters have aroused quiet a stir here. No less than three political addresses have been delivered during the last few days. Mr Scholes, Opposition candidat-, for Waikato was the first to visit us, but as no notice had been given there wasjbut a small attendance. The following day Mr Wilson, member lor Taumarunui, addressed his electors in the school, Mr O. Dasßler residing. The member was accorded a vote of thanks and confidence.

On Monday last, Mr Young, member for Waikato, held a very successful meeting in the hall. The gatharing was the largest political meeting ever held in the hall, and was presided over' by our local repreßenative in the Waitomo Council, Mr Potts. The speaker was nlistened to with interest, and at the conclusion of his address, he received a vote of thanks and confidence. Crs Potts and Easy —tha latter having been elected unopposed to a seat on the Kawhia County Council —escorted Mr Young over the new Kawa road from Kawa railway station to Te Rau-a-Moa, so as to forcibly bring under the member's notice the meritß of this short and direct route to the railway. General satisfaction is expressed at Mr Easy's entry to the Councli as his long residence in our midst has fitted him for the post. An important meeting re railway matters is to be held here Bborly. Delegates are to atttend from Otorohanga and Kawhia South.
