Young ezplameci the obiecc c* ths meeting, and movsd that those present resolve themselves into a committee for the purpose of promoting a Queen of the Carmvai competition with power to sdd to their number. The motion was seconded bv Mr Cochrane and carried. Mr Stevens was elected chairman of the committee, Messrs Cochrance and Young were appointed joint secretaries, and Mr L. C. Barton treasurer. The joint secretaries were authorised to circularise the prominent president avft business people of the town and country with the object of enlisting their active co-op eration. The following executive was appointed r-Messrs Boddie, Somerville Howarth, Sheehan, Gadsby, Matthew, Julian, Brewer, Lusk, Rotnery, Mackay, and the executive officers, five to form a quorum. The secretaries were smpowered to get tickets printed and the price was fixed at 2d each.
