A social under the management of tha C.E.MS, was held in St. Luke's Parish Hall on Wednesday last, the weather conditions being favour'ble and a large attendance, including visitors from Auckland, Rotorua and Te Awamutu,also the ladies' hockey team from the latter town. The many tasteful and pretty dresses gave a pleasing effect to the room. Miss Mackay, Messrs Christian. C. Hitchcock and Lipscombe presided at the piano, and the music was exceptionally good and much appreciated. Miss V. Adams, Master Adams, and Mr Bert Clapham gave some delightful selections on piano, orchestra! bells, violin and kettle drum, which called forth great applause. Mr McColl and Mr H. Poutawera were capable M's.C, and kept the dance going merrily with hut a short interval for refreshments which were handed round : ~ , ..
