Minister for External Affairs—Mr J. Arthur. Minister for Home Affairs—Mr W. Archibald Postrnaater-Genreal —Mr W. G. Spence. Vice-President of the Executive Council—Senator Gardiner. Honorary Ministers —Messrs H. Mason, J. Jessen and Senator Rus--8011. The Federal Parliament will be opened on October Bth. FEDERAL WORKS DEPARTMENT. Received Friday, 9 p.m. A caucus of the Labour party decided to create a new Federal Works Department to control Canberra Federal railways, and all Federal public works, excepting naval and fortifications. The new portfolio is given to Mr Jensen. Ministerial salaries are increased from £12,000 to £14,000 or £15,000 per annum. General satisfaction is expressed at the new Ministry.
