Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report that on Wednesday, 22nd inst., they held a very successful cow sale in the Hamilton yards,when all cowa and heifera close to profit met with brißk competit on and a ready sale. On account of Mr R. Martin, Whatawhata, the whole dairy herd of 20 cows averaged £8 6s Bd. We quote: —Second and third calvera close up £8 5s to £lO sb, to calve early £7 to £8 ss, backward £6 to £7 ss, older and poor conditioned £3 10s to £6 7s Gd, Jerseys met with poor demand, choice Shorthorn heifera at profit £9 5a to £lO, others £6 to £7 15s,slightly backward £3 10s to £5 Newton King reports:— On 22nd inßt., at my Stony River yards, 1 had a good entry and attendance, practically everything yarded being cleared at the hammer: —Beßt two year hefiers £6 12s 6d to £7 15b, others £5 10s to £6 ss, smaller heifera £4 to £4 15s, yearling heifers 39s to 47b, smaller 29a 6d to 32e, weaner to yearling Bteers 39a 6d to £2 17s, empty 20 month heifers £3 5s 6d to £3 13s, yearling Shorthorn bulls £2 12 6d to £4 ss, store cowb £2 15s to £4 9s, good conditioned cows £5 5a to £6 7s, hoggets 14s 6d, dairy cows £6 5s to £8 10s, guaranteed cows, aged £3 7s 6d to £5 ss. On 23rd inst, at Urenui yards, I conducted Mr W. J. Bowman's clear-

ing aale. There was a very good attendance of buyers from all over the district, but tbo'cowß were disappointing, there being an exceptionally big number of very old cows. Any young cows well forward Bold very well, making from £lO to £lB 10s,others from £8 to £9 ss, old cows £2 12s, to £4 10s.
