LAND BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Taranaki Land Board was held on Wednesday. Present: Messrs Bullard (Commissioner) in the chair, Ryan and Coxshead. APPLICATION FOR LAND. D. and M. E. Shepherd, lessees of section 6, block 11, Aria, 290 acres, applied for a portion of section 4, adjoining in order to get a good fencing linp.—Left to the Commissioner. A. Sjllivan, lessee of section 24, block 11, Mapara, applied for a portion of township reserve adjoining, to improve the fencing boundary.—Approved. S. EL Barnitt applied for year to year lease of section 22, block 1, Aria, 7ac. 2r. 12p.—Approved. TRANSFERS. Thomas Agang, lessee of section 9, block 3, Ohura, 709 acres, applied to transfer to C. E. Wheeler and W. H. rife. All conditions had been applied with and transferee was landless.— Approved. W. Milne, lessee of Education Section 65, Manganui district, applied to transfer to W. J. Croasdale.—Appruved. S. H. and S. A. Jenkins applied at the June meeting to transfer 153 a. 3r. 27p. of section 35, block 15, Ngaere. to L. C. Hitchcock, and consideration was deferred for ranger's report, which was now to hand and recommended the application, which was therefore approved. A. Leeder, lessee of Eection 9, block 5, Egmont, 203 acres, applied to transfer to L. M. M. Monteath— Approved. F. E. Thompson, lessee of section 12, block 2 ; Heao, applied to transfer to A. W. Thompson. It was reported that transferee held 299 acreß section 25, block 14, Ohura, L.1.P., lessee was not residing—The application was refused and Mr Thompson was given time to find another transferee. P. M. Pleasel, lessee of section 1, block ti, Tangilu, applied to transfer half interest to W. G. Brown—Approved. H. E. Wilkinson, lessee of section 18. block 11, Mapara, applied to transfer to R. Binns —Action defered for further inquiries. THE FREEHOLD
W. F a Terrill, leesee of section 87 ; Tikorangi applied for freeholdAgreed to. R. Addiaon applied for issue of title to section 17, block 1, Tangitu —Agreed to. GENERAL The following proposals for expenditure of thirds were received and approved:—Eltham County Council, £857 8s sd; Waitorao County Council, £877 8b sd. Dr E. B. Howard wrote re nonpayment of his fees by several settlers in the Tangitu approved farm settlement—The Board regretted the circumstances, but has no power to act. D. Mackenzie, lessee of section 2. block 31, Ohura, was granted six months' exemption from residence. The application of S. H. J. Brown, lessee of section 15, block 11, Ohura, for exemption from residence was refused and he was given six months in which to find a suitaDle transferee. Action re H. Ryan who baa not been residing on section 13, block 13, Ohura, was deferred, provided residence ia satisfactory in future.
