H was stated the accused was in tho habit of giving sick natives liquid to fprinklu on the pillow?, etc. She hud great influence amongst the Mauris, many of whom.died owing to neglect to call proper medical aid. The magistrate said accused was a wicked old woman, and sentenced her to six months' imprisonment without hard labour.
