TWO MEN INCINERATED.
SIGNS OF CAROUSAL,
[liT TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Whangarei, Thursday. Two men, Patrick Daley, aged 65, and Alfred Carr, aged 66, were burned to death in a whare in the Purewa gum-digging camp near Whangarei yesterday. - Daley was last seen alive at daylight, when he called at an adjoining whare fo«- matches. The guradiggsrs, following the usual custom, were away from the camp all day. On returning, one of their number made the shocking discovery that the bcdieß of both of the deceased men were lying in the open fireplace. The bodies were badly charred. A larga quantity of liquor was found on the premises. It is sur'mised that both men, who lived together, had bean on a drinking bout, and that while intoxicated, they fell off a form found in front of the fireplace. , There were no signs of any struggle, • •
