A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.

ANNUAL REPORT

The annual general meeting of the Agricultural and Pastoral Association is to be held at Te Kuit on Wednesday next when the following report will be presented:— "In presenting to you the third annual report and balance-sheet, we have pleasure in reporting that, although the revenue received this year was considerably less than last year, the Association has not gone back to any great extept. This is mainly accounted for by the fact that the working expenses were less and that.uwing to the poor support and consequents poor results of the show, the executive were forced into paying out only half prize money. In contrasting the individual results we find that while donations last year totalled £123 3?, this year wo received only £54 5a 6d. Entries Bhow a falling off of £4, gate money £2, stand fees £7, while the cost of the special train was £lO over last year, and cost ot luncheon was £34 over that of last year. In view of the foregoing facts, the Association is to be congratulated in coming out bo well on the year's working. While realising that in paying out half prize money the executive were taking n serious step, they considered it absolutely necessary and hops that the members will, by supporting the ehow in future render it unnecessary to take this Btep again. The executive have come to the conclusion that it will ha necessary to go back to the oneday bV.ow, but trust that with the support of the members and townspeople, it will Boon be found necessary to. extend the show again. There are still some sixty members who have not y«t paid their suhscribtions, which, if paid.would have

turned the debit balance into a credti balance, and the executive sincerely hopes that those members will lose no time in sending their subscriptions alcrg to the secretary."
