THE NEW JUDGES.
[BY TELEGRAPH. PB.ESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Tuesday, The most interesting matter to be decided at this week's Cabinet meeting is the appointment of two new judges, one to replace hiß Honour Sir J srua Williams (appointed to the Privy Council) and another to increase the number of judges as provided in the Judicature Act of last session. The only names mentioned among those who ferl inclined to prophesy are Mr J. H. Hosking, K.C., of Dunedin, and Mr Justice Sim, of the Arbitration Court. The latter has really held full judicial honours for a couple of years, and it i 3 understood that the Government's intention is in due course to appuint another judge of the Arbitration Court
The Court of Appeal will be divided into two branches, so as to facilitate the course of judicial business, and this arrangement will be completed, tbe necessary judges being apportioned to each division as soon as the new appointments are announced. The Minister of Justice, who attended to-day's Cabinet meetings, left in the evening for Dunedin to be present at the farewell to Sir Joshua Williams.
