MESSRS BARR AND PAUL REAPPOINTED. Wellington, Munday. A special Gazette announces the reappointment of the Hon. John Barr, of Christchurch, and t!la Hon. J. T. Paul, of Dunedis., to ths Legislative Council as from the 22nd inst. The Hons. J. T. Paul and J. Barr have each served a term of seven years in the Legislative Council, having been appointed as labour representatives by the Ward Government in 1907. Mr Paul wag formerly president of the Otagci Trades and Labour Council, and i 3 at present the president of the United Labour party Mr Barr is a stonemason by occupation, and is associated with the Christchurch labour movement. Both gentlemen are generally opposed to the policy of 'the Federation of Labour, and have been outspoken on several occasions aa emphatic supporters of the principles of arbitration.
