NEW PARLIAMENTARY BUILDINGS
A TENDER' ACCEPTED. CHRISTCHURCH FIRM SUCCESSFUL. [HY 'I'KLKGIIAI'U.—rRICSS ASSOCIATION.! Wellington, Fridßy. The following statement was made by the Hon. Mr Bell in the Legislative Council thh afternoon. The tender for the erection of the new Parliamentary Buildings has been let to Messrs Hansford, Mills and Hardy, of Chriatchurch at £151,639. The work would be completed on December 12th, 1915. The material to be used would be brick faced with Coromandel granite up to fifteen feet from the ground; grey and white marble from Sandy Bay, Neleon, for the rest of the structure. The portion included in the contract was 228 feet long and 247 feet broad. The height varies from 52 to 64 feet. Other tenders were from J. A. Mnody, Auckland; £162 371; F. W. Lydsrs, Dunedin, £179,035; Mitchell, King and Gordon, Sydney, £197,667 and J. and J. W. Jamieson, Chriitchurch, £200,654.
