NEW RHODES SCHOLAR.
—♦ — -~- AUCKLAND STUDENT SELECTED. The election of this year's Rhodes Scholar was held at Government House, Wellington, on Wednesday, the Governor, as chairman of the committee, presiding. Sir Robert Stout, as Chancellor of the University, Mr Justice Chapman, as next senior judge available, Professors Sbrbi-, Auckland; Picket. Wellington; Chilton, Christchurch; Malcolm, Otago; and Hector, Registrar of the University, were present. After careful consideration William Meirion Jones, C.Sc, of Auckland University College, was unanimously selected scholar for 1914.
