Matters oi local interest dealt with by the above board at their last meeting were as follows The painting of the school building at Kaeaea was referred to the inspector as was a request for improvements to the residence at Waihou, also extensions of the boundaries of the Elstow district, and an application for a school district at Puketurua. The architect was authorised to arrange for the enlargement of the school building at Owhango. The Ongarue committee was authorised 'to floor the marquee used |for auxiliary school purposes.
A request from the Otangiwai committee for a grant to cover the costs of aar.itary service was declined.
The boundaries of the Kakahi school district were iixed as recommended. List of schools of which the head teachers shall be deemed to hold town appointments: Taumarunui, Te Kuiti, Te Awmntu, Rotorua, Tauranga, Morrinsville, Coromandel, Ngaruawahia, Huntly, Karangahake, Paeroa District High School, Te Aroha, Papakura. It was further resolved: "That, in accordance with the recommendation of the Board of Inspectors, no special lists of teachers eligible for positions of heads of preparatory departments in large schools be prepared, and that where such position becomes vacant the snecial duties demanded by the position be stated in the advertisement."
