TAUMATAWAENGA.
Own Correspondent. The iast concert and dance of the season was held in the tea rooms on August 16th. There were thirty-five present, and all combiner! to make it an unqualified success. The children's recitations and the adult songs were well received. A novel feature introduced was the Taumatawaenga orchestra. The performers were got up in "capping day" style, arranged by Mr W. Elliot, who led the music with an aceordeon, accompanied by Mr D. Mayall on tbe mouth organ, Mr B. Pinches comb and paper, and Mr A. M. Elliot on empty oil drum. The audience were greatly pleased with the sweet harmony they produced. The festivities concluded with the usual supper provided by the ladies. The organ fund benefitted considerably by a liberal collection, the guests departing at midnight after rendering the National Anthem.
