CANADIAN LAND BOOM.
The Canadian land boom, which was reported the other day to have collaosed, has produced some strange incidents. A correspondent of the London Daily Express dsscribea a visit he paid recently to Redcliff, "boom town," a lew miles distant to Medi cine Hat, in Alberta. There are two small factories at Redcliff, which is placed apparently at random on the illimitable prairie, and thirty or forty houses, scattered over an area of about a square mile. One hotel occupies a central position, and three sheds acommodate branches of Canadian banks. But a city large enough to contain 10,000 inhabitants has been surveyed, and "lots" far from the centre are being sold at the rate of about £4OO an acre, while central sites on a wide avenue indicated 8t present by pegs are quoted at prices equall ng several thousands ot pounds an acre. Enthusiasts call Redcliff the "smokeless Pitsburg of the West," because it has a supply of natural gas similar to that of Medicine Hat.
