BOROUGH SANITATION.
TEMPORARY INSPECTOR AP-
POINTED
In view of the nacessity for the utmost care in respect to sanitary matters, coupled with the fact that the epidemic among the Maoris is held by many to be true small pox, the position of the borough was discussed by the Council last night. It was pointed out that the Health Department's inspector, Mr Calderwood was engaged in those listricts where the epidemic had broken out, and in view of the necessity for the utmost care it was decided to appoint a temporary inspector for the borough. A house to house inspection is to be made, and all yards not cleaned to the satisfaction of the inspector by Tuesday morning will be taken in hand by the authorities,fand will be cleaned at the expense of the ocupant.
